Depending on the number of students who apply for the course, the classes may be consultation-based or standard, with lectures, exercises, and seminars, as stated in the study programme and the implementation plan.
Consultations with the course teacher will be held according to the arrangement made between the course teacher and the postgraduate study programme students (twice per month is recommended). The tendency at the study programme is to match the content of the exam for specific courses with the postgraduate study programme student’s research topic.
i) Mandatory and elective curricular activities
After selecting and taking courses, the postgraduate study programme student must report for the selected courses with the course teachers. If the classes are consultation-based, after the student successfully reports for all the courses, the study advisor will submit a filled in form OB-8-4-5 Certificate on Reporting for Courses.
The students will apply for exams and the course teachers will enter their grades via the ISVU system, at one of the offered exam dates for the academic year 2018 / 2019.
The exam dates for 2021 are the following:
- 26 February
- 31 March
- 30 April
- 28 May

- 30 July
- 31 August

- 30 November
ii) Extracurricular activities
Apart from the classes, the study obligations include extracurricular activities, which include the student’s scientific work.
The students’ scientific work will be proven by publishing scientific papers in foreign scientific journals and at international scientific conferences, in cooperation with their study advisor or mentor, and in the area of their research, as well as by creating their doctoral thesis.
At the beginning of their study year, the students must fill in the form OB 8-4-6 Annual Activity Plan for Postgraduate Study Programme Students, and after the study year is complete, the study advisor or the mentor will fill in the form OB 8-4-7 Annual Report of the Mentor or Study Advisor for the student and submit it to the Postgraduate Study Programme Committee.
iii) Suspending obligations or extending the duration of the study programme
A student has the right to suspend their obligations pursuant to Article 33 of the Ordinance on Postgraduate Study Programmes of the University, and they may exercise their right to suspend their obligations only if they submit a written request for the approval of the suspension of obligations with credible documents that justify the request to the Committee for the Postgraduate Study Programme, within 30 days after the reasons for the suspension of obligations have occurred.
During the period in which their obligations have been suspended, the students may take the exams for which they have fulfilled the conditions, and the suspension period is not counted toward the duration of the study programme.
Pursuant to Article 18 and paragraph (1) and (2) of the Ordinance on Postgraduate Study Programmes of the University, the Committee for the Postgraduate Study Programme may approve extensions that last no longer than one year of studies.
