Study programme application and enrolment


The announcement for enrolment to the Postgraduate University Study Programme Civil Engineering in the academic year 2020 / 2021 has been posted at the notice board and the website of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Osijek (link: http://www.gfos.unios.hr/natjecaj-za-upis-studenata-na-poslijediplomski-sveucilisni-studij-gradevinarstvo), the website of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek (link: http://www.unios.hr/natjecaji-gradevinskog-i-arhitektonskog-fakulteta-osijek-09-09-2020/), and the daily newspaper Glas Slavonije of 9 September 2020. The application period is 30 days after the posting date of the announcement. 

 

i) Application and scholarship costs

 

The applicants must submit their application on the regulated form (the documents and other attachments which are required with the application are listed on the application form). The regulated application forms are the following:

Note 1: The request for the recognition of the appropriate ECTS credits may be submitted by the applicants who have acquired the academic degree master of science or who are transferring from other postgraduate university study programmes, via the form OB-7-1-5 Recognition of Previously Acquired ECTS Credits. The Committee for the Postgraduate Study Programme will issue a decision on the recognition of ECTS credits via the form OB-7-1-8.  

Note 2: The full-time postgraduate university study programme students are assistants and junior researchers and they do not participate in the costs of the postgraduate university study programme (scholarship). The part-time study programme is intended for students who are employed at another position along with attending the study programme. The costs of the postgraduate study programme (scholarship) for part-time students must be paid by the students themselves, the institution that employs them, or by another institution.

 

The scholarship at the Postgraduate University Study Programme Civil Engineering for six semesters is HRK 30,000.00 in total for the citizens of the Republic of Croatia and the citizens of EU Member States, and it is HRK 90,000.00 for the citizens of states outside of the EU.

 

ii) Conditions and procedures for the selection of applicants

The applications and the fulfilment of the required conditions by the applicants are considered by the Committee for the Postgraduate Study Programme. The criteria for the selection of the postgraduate study programme applicants are determined by the postgraduate study programme holder according to the study programme which is available at the website http://www.gfos.unios.hr/postgraduate-university-study-programme-civil-engineering/home-page-pos-univ-civ-eng

 

The selection criteria have been listed in the study plan.

 

 iii) Enrolment to the study programme

 

The Committee for the Postgraduate Study Programme will create the list of the selected applicants for enrolment to the postgraduate university study programme according to the established criteria and post it on the notice board and the website.

 

The appeal period and the period for the response to the appeal will be posted. The applicants must submit their appeals on the regulated form OB-7-1-7 Appeal to the Outcome of the Verification of the Fulfilment of the Enrolment Conditions.

 

A postgraduate university study programme student may select their study advisor or the Committee for the Postgraduate Study Programme will assign one to them, and the study advisors will help the students with their studies and monitor their work and their accomplishments. The study advisor must fill in the form OB 7-1-10 Statement on the Selection of the Study Advisor. The study advisor may also be the student’s mentor for creating the doctoral thesis. Additionally, at enrolment, the applicant must fill in the OB-7-1-9 Student Registration Form.

 

iv) Selection of the study programme module and elective courses

 

The Postgraduate University Study Programme has been structured in modules, so the student, along with their study advisor, apart from at least one general elective course must also choose the five courses from one of the modules:

 

  • Load-Bearing Structures;
  • Organisation, Technology and Management of Construction;
  • Engineering Mechanics;
  • Hydraulic Engineering;
  • Transportation engineering and geotechnics.

 

The list of modules and the appropriate courses with the course teachers and their ECTS credits is available as part of the Implementation Plan of the Postgraduate University Study Programme Civil Engineering in the Academic Year 2020 / 2021.
